How we're sustainable
Here are some of the steps we’ve taken to make Riverview a more eco-friendly stay:

Renewable energy: All our electricity comes from renewable sources.

Eco-friendly products: We use only eco-conscious, ocean-friendly, and plastic-free cleaning products, hand wash, and dishwasher tablets.

Sustainable paper goods: The toilet paper and kitchen roll we provide are unbleached, made using renewable energy, and produced from recycled cardboard or bamboo.

Recycling and composting: We encourage guests to recycle as much as possible and provide a compost bin for garden and kitchen waste.

Wildlife-friendly planting: Our garden features bee- and butterfly-friendly plants to support local biodiversity.

Recycled materials: Any paper items we use, such as leaflets and cards, are made from recycled paper.
We’re proud to offer a comfortable stay that’s both relaxing and responsible — helping our guests enjoy the beauty of Northumberland while helping to protect it for the future.
About the Owners
Hi, we’re Robert and Claire — proud owners of Riverview Cottage. We live in County Durham with our young son and our cheeky black Labrador, Lewis!
We discovered Warkworth during a visit in 2019 and instantly fell in love with its charm, community, and beautiful surroundings. A year later, in October 2020, we were thrilled to make Riverview Cottage our own. Our vision was simple: to create a place where we could escape from the rush of everyday life, spend quality time as a family, and enjoy the outdoors while slowing down and recharging.
Riverview has been a much-loved holiday home for many years, and we feel incredibly fortunate to welcome a loyal group of returning guests who share our appreciation for this special place. At the same time, we love meeting new visitors and helping them discover the magic of Warkworth for the first time. Many of our guests fall for it just as we did — often booking their next stay before they’ve even left!
